Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi of Punjab has declared winter vacations for all educational institutions in the province, with schools, colleges, and universities set to close from December 18 to December 31. The announcement was made on the CM’s official social media account, emphasizing the need for a break during the winter season. In addition to the vacation news, the caretaker CM revealed that there would be no restrictions during the upcoming weekend, attributing the decision to an improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI).
This decision was reached during a meeting chaired by the caretaker CM, attended by experts and government officials. The move is expected to contribute to better air quality in Punjab, as reduced traffic during the closure of educational institutions is likely to positively impact the AQI in the last weeks of December.
