The education landscape in Sindh is gearing up for the upcoming academic year, scheduled to commence on April 15, 2024, as confirmed by the spokesperson of the education department. A sub-committee meeting, led by caretaker provincial education minister Rana Hussain, deliberated and finalized the academic calendar, determining that schools will kick off the year in mid-April, while colleges will follow suit on August 1. Notably, the existing structure of winter and summer vacations will persist.
Matriculation exams are slated for the first week of May, with results expected by July 31. Meanwhile, intermediate exams will take place in the last week of May, and their results are anticipated to be released in the second week of August. In an effort to enhance educational quality, a noteworthy initiative has been introduced – a 15-day training session for teachers during the summer break.
This comprehensive plan reflects the region’s commitment to a structured and timely academic calendar, ensuring students and educators alike can plan their schedules effectively. The announcements provide clarity for students preparing for upcoming exams and underscore the province’s dedication to maintaining educational standards amidst the evolving landscape. As the academic year unfolds, these measures aim to contribute to a smoother and more organized educational experience for all stakeholders in Sindh.
